About Patricia
Since she first picked up a crayon as a child, Patricia has been captivated by painting and drawing. After a fulfilling career as an educator, where she inspired young children to pursue their dreams, she is now embracing her own artistic aspirations.

Since 2015, Patricia has been dedicated to enhancing her artistic abilities through classes at the Gibsons School of Arts. Under the guidance of accomplished artists such as Domanik Modlinski, Jerry McLaughlin, Greta Guzek and Verne Busby, these classes have allowed her to experiment with various mediums and subjects. However, it was during a 12-day “Open Your Art” retreat in Spain, led by Marleen Vermeulen and Marlene Lowden, that she truly discovered the joy of painting with both confidence and passion. Her guiding inspiration now is, “Paint and move it with love, not fear.”

Patricia has exhibited in Gibsons, through group shows at The Kube Studios and Gibsons Public Art Gallery, and in Sechelt with “Friends of the Gallery” at the Doris Crowston Gallery. She is also a participating Artist in the Sunshine Coast Art Crawl.

Though grounded by family and friends, Patricia has travelled the world to push the boundaries of personal experience. And whether it be New Zealand, Sicily, California, or even in Monet's own garden in Giverny, she is always drawn to water.

"I feel extremely fortunate to live in Gibsons, where throughout the year the beautiful coastal surroundings provide an endless source of creativity.
Initially focused on landscapes and seascapes, I now embrace abstraction to express my love and concern for the disappearing natural world. Using glazing techniques I explore light and luminosity, creating works that evoke emotion and inspire viewers to reconnect with nature.
Through my paintings I seek to show the love and contentment I have found, and to share some moments of peace and joy in this world so full of chaos."
